Follow up - next day not so bad

Re: the review below, the next day the ikura was a little less off-tasting once it was separated from its "soupy" bretheren and had a chance to breathe. Maybe it was the packaging and the liquid that contributed to the off-taste?? Can't edit the review below so leaving a separate one.

Off-flavours and soupy

I have eaten a fair share of Ikura in my life (both purchased for personal use and in restaurants) and I was really excited to try this because ikura can be difficult to source. It’s hard to describe but this ikura tasted stale and faintly musty, with a distinct sweet fishy taste. Texturally, the individual ikura seemed mostly intact but the mixture was a bit soupy. They were not as large and plump as the photos, which isn’t a big deal but with the other issues it just added to the disappointment. It is edible, but not enjoyable, especially for the price point. Sadly, there are no returns on perishable items so I guess I’m stuck with it. I’m wondering if I just got a bad batch or something. Too bad because the shipping was fast and free.
